Deepika Padukone in Chennai express
Sloppy dialogues, pointless scenes and slapstick comedy. This was the impression of “Chennai Express”, when I saw first 15 minutes of the film and decided to leave the movie midway.

I almost got up to get out of the movie hall when Deepika Padukone came to my rescue.

There she was! A vivacious, beautiful woman in traditional south Indian attire, running towards me in slow motion in a close shot. I decided to stay on my seat a wee bit longer.

Deepika Padukone in "Chennai Express"
She was all one could ask for. A perfect blend of mischief, innocence and beauty. Deepika Padukone looked lovely in every sense of the word. She did great justice to her South Indian character “Meenamma’s role. Deepika Padukone is a versatile actor who is also capable of carring roles of a seductive sultress with the same finesse.
She was a perfect choice to portray  traditional Indian “Meenamma” in her complexities!

With his exaggerated acting, it was disappointing to see shah rukh khan. “Chennai Express” was perfect example of shahrukh’s potential being wasted well, “quite perfectly”.

“Deepika Padukone” embodied charming Meenamma’s character quite perfectly.

Only thing that worked for shah rukh in “Chennai Express” was his on-screen chemistry with his actress Deepika, which somehow worked.

But, honestly, Shahrukh khan was there in this movie just for the heck of it.

Deepika in Hot Avatar
At the time I watched “Chennai Express”, I had no idea that I was witnessing the biggest block buster of Bollywood cinema. I can guarantee, even Rohit Shetty himself couldn’t have imagined that his “Chennai express” would go this far.

Contrary to what I might have written earlier, Now, I can confidently say “Chennai Express” is an amazing movie, which is totally enjoyable and with no un-necessary skin show a total family entertainer. God only knows how Rohit Shetty created such a charming Character.

Meenamma” is so flawlessly carved that you just fall in love with her.
Needless to say, “I enjoyed almost entire movie quite thoroughly”.I am not amazed to know that “Chennai Express” is a big block buster today, but the credit for its success goes to Deepika Padukone, 100 percent! I am sure neither Rohit Shetty nor Shahrukh will dispute that.
